Tyler Schwend

Raised in the mountains of Star Valley, Wyoming, Tyler’s life was forever changed when he witnessed severe physical and sexual exploitation of children in the Dominican Republic.

Tyler received degrees in Spanish and Healthcare Administration from Utah State University and Brigham Young University-Idaho and is currently pursuing an MBA from the University of Wyoming. Tyler’s history of volunteer work includes serving with organizations like Kingdom Global, The Tim Tebow Foundation, The Make A Wish Foundation, Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, and the Children’s Tumor Network. Tyler has since served all over South America. He is fluent in Spanish.

In 2014, Tyler returned to the Dominican Republic and founded Gifts of Grace, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing the exploitation of children in the Dominican Republic. The foundation fights human trafficking by empowering vulnerable children who can’t attend school and are often exploited because of the lack of education. The foundation seeks to remove the hurdles preventing children from attending school by paying tuition, paying for legal services to obtain birth certificates, and purchasing required uniforms.

Tyler now works with aftercare and considers it an honor to work for Operation Underground Railroad and witness the liberation and rehabilitation of God’s precious children.
